Macros?

So, after all these years I'm seriously taking the plunge

Despite being aware of the advantages of functional programming and reading the essays from Paul Graham I never really 'got' the whole functional paradigm.

It's time for things to change.

Having just completed a course in lambda calculus I feel like the functional gods are smiling upon me. I shall dive into SICP and fink install ghc. Bear with me, please.
